Mesemb growth and more
Posted by Stuart under: Cacti; Other Succulents .
Left to right:
Pleiospilos nelii – showing a new pair of leaves developing in the fissure. The oldest pair of leaves on the plant are now shrivelling up and being consumed by the plant.
Lithops salicola – showing really good colouring on the new leaves; it looks like this plant is going to divide this year. I’m pretty sure there are two heads about to emerge.
Blossfeldia liliputana ‘Subterranea’ – unfortunately the weather was too dark and gloomy for this flower to open, but with better light it should do so.
Sulcorebutia rauschii – a plant showing discolouration of the epidermis caused by an attack of red spider mite last year. Notice the two flower buds cunningly masquerading as new offsets…
