Buds and growth
Posted by Stuart under: Cacti .
Top row, left to right:
Two plants of Turbinicarpus krainzianus, one producing its first flower bud of the year, the other showing impressive new red spines.
Turbinicarpus schwarzii showing the flower pictured the other day, plus two more that have appeared from nowhere in the last day or two.
Turbinicarpus macrochele with a pure white flower bud; were it not for the overcast weather today, this flower would be open.
Bottom row:
Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele – one of several plants I have of this species.
Blossfeldia liliputana -the first time I’ve successfully overwintered Blossfeldias on their own roots. I have three of them, but this is the only one in bud.
Strombocactus disciformis – a plant I bought last autumn, which seems to have overwintered happily.
Echinocereus viridiflorus – a 2-year-old seedling flowering for the first time.
