Lots going on
Posted by Stuart under: Cacti .
Top row, left to right:
Blossfeldia liliputana ‘Subterranea’ – obviously it wasn’t deciding to flower in the middle of winter after all, merely getting ready for spring.
Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus ssp andersonii – showing development of flower buds
Melocactus sp. – an unknown Melocactus species clearly showing signs of new spination
Bottom row, left to right:
Pleiospilos nelii – showing both bud and open flower.
Heliocereus sp. – after being cut back and threatened with the compost bin after five years in which it has never flowered, this plant is finally covered in buds!
The first Opuntioid to wake up is Tephrocactus booleanus (?) which has the signs of a couple of new joints coming. Photos to follow tomorrow if I get chance.
